The Cuban American accused of terrorist in Venezuela for carrying a drone
Jorge Alberto Fernández Hernández is a Cuban American who has been detained in Venezuela for almost a year for an alleged crime of terrorism.
According to Infobae, his life is hell since February 26, 2021, when he was arrested in the Peracal Alcabala of San Antonio del Táchira because he went with a small drone.
Fernández went to Venezuela to do tour because his hobby is to meet places.“I came to Venezuela out of curiosity, because there are many beautiful things like Angel's jump.I really never thought to have problems because I had never had it anywhere else ”.
Now he will be judged for an alleged terrorism case for carrying "a toy drone (which) used to take photos and videos in his vacation," his family told the aforementioned source.
“I have never been allowed to make a call to my parents and children, I have not been allowed to communicate with my embassies, in total violation of my human rights.My presentation hearing was on September 29, 2021, seven months after I detained, violating the Criminal Code, ”said Fernández in a letter sent to Infobae.
Fernández says that he has been a victim of xenophobia that “exists here towards the‘ gringos ’as many officials tell me disparagingly.Nor has it allowed my lawyers to defend me;During the preliminary hearing, Judge María Renee Garrido (Luisa René Garrido Traspalacios, judge of the Third Control Court with competence in terrorism) known as La Nena, denied me that right, offended me verbally with obscene words and told me to assume (the facts) or I went to trial, because she was not going to negotiate anything with me about the crimes that are imputed to me ".
Jorge Alberto Fernández Hernández turned 52 imprisoned in Venezuela.He was born in Havana, but since 1994 he left for the United States.
According to his testimony he lives in the city of Las Vegas, where he worked 11 years for the MGM company in one of its hotels.His daughters live in the US and his family in Cuba.
